Hey everyone!
Before I get to That 90s Blog I want to thank everyone for helping me kick off That 90s Show in a big way, I’ve been having a blast with the show weeknights at 9pm and am taken back by the amount of support and new friends I’ve made in just the few short weeks it’s been on the air.
Now, enough with the mushy stuff…let’s talk about boy bands! A few weeks back a buddy of mine got into a debate about Boy Bands, more specifically The Backstreet Boys and N*Sync. It was a ridiculous conversation, but it sparked an idea in my head to take it public. Sure, we all know back in the 90s you were either Team BSB (like me) or Team N*Sync…but here we are nearly 20 years later and I think it’s time to see what everyone thinks now.
It was easy enough to compare them in their heyday, both 5 member pop groups that sang about love, danced around, and created a media frenzy…but what is their lasting impression now? N*Sync gave us Justin Timberlake who’s a bonafined megastar, but what ever came of the rest of both groups? You’ll see some of them pop up here and there in the news, but it seems like they rode the wave in the 90s and for the most part, called it a day.
